Lost Villages of MississaugaCelebrating its 50 years of service to the community, Heritage Mississauga is proud to bring you this publication which chronicles the stories of, and offers a glimpse into, the "Lost Villages" that formed the foundation for the City of Mississauga. A work in progress since 2002, Heritage Mississauga's Lost Villages was financially supported by the Halton Peel Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and written by a number of authors. Heritage Mississauga thanks individual contributing authors and researchers Ashley (Crump) Bachrynowski, Meaghan FitzGibbon, Zofia Krivdova, Nicole Mair and Matthew Wilkinson. In addition, Mississauga Heritage is indebted to past authors and community historians, including William Perkins Bull, Mary Manning, Eric Gibson, Marjorie Sparling and Kathleen Hicks, for the work they have done in preserving and publishing our history. Copies of this book are available for $20 plus $5 for shipping and handling. Cheque or money order to; Dave Cook |

![]() A book of thoroughbred horse racing history written in poem by William Galvin "Galvin's poetic history brings the backstretch to life-its sights, smells, sounds and stories. The poems celebrate real events, real horses and real people, their hard lives, their dreams and particularly their partnership with their horses. The poems celebrate the tales that have passed into backstretch lore. And by the very nature of their rhythms, they give us a sense of the spirit that touches the whole racing community."   |
